These Senators are opposed to the Child Victims Act with a 1 yr- Window that would help survivors. Demand that they stand with survivors and not their abusers! Tweet Governor Cuomo and tell him to help get this bill passed into law.

The Child Victims Act is supported by the New York State Assembly and Governor Cuomo. It would eliminate the criminal statute of limitations for sexual assault, allow for 50 years past date of assault for civil, make private institutions mandatory reporters (they are currently NOT in New York), and allow a 1 year window for civil claims for survivors that have aged out of the existing laws= 23 years of age and older.

1:4 girls and 1:6 boys in the state of New York will be sexually assaulted before they are the age of 18. That is a pandemic. It is time to allow victims to tell their stories. We need to know who hurt children. We need to know how they were able to do it. We need to know who helped keep the sexual assaults and molestations a secret. We need to know how many more victims they had. No more private settlements with accompanying Non-Disclosure Agreements. Society needs to see where the dangers lurk in wait for the next child and we need to know they can no longer harm anyone else. We need to know because we need to prevent more sexual assaults.
